How Carefree women do it?

Steve had called Carefree…The Resort on Carefree Boulevard for an appointment at 2 PM Tuesday. It is a Women’s RV Resort in Fort Myers, Florida. We headed down in the pouring rain about noon. Upon our arrival we called the sales office and Diane buzzed us into the resort. We pulled in and could see her waving us ahead to her home/office. She greeted us with open arms and suggested she would give us a tour on her golf cart. The resort is large with many permanent sites and several transient sites.

The Resort on Carefree Boulevard is home for many women. They may or may not have an RV at all. This might be their main home or second home. Few groups do “community” as well as it appears that Carefree does community!

Carefree Pool

Carefree is relatively new and the place looks impeccable. The grounds are well maintained and surround a great clubhouse, for members only. If you rent a RV space you are given temporary membership. The pool overlooks a huge pond and is very clean and inviting. Since the resort is primarily for women; the pool/clubhouse is open to men and children from 11 to 1 pm only.

In the clubhouse they have had many headliners perform from Suzanne Westenhofer to Kate Clinton. We often talk about how tastefully Gay men decorate; this place could put many of those gay men to shame!

After our tour around the whole resort and Diane’s attempt to introduce us to the women who started Rainbow RV, who we unfortunately did not meet; we returned to the office and talked at length about our business and soon her partner Kathy arrived home. They were very congenial and welcoming. I am sure if we had stayed here we would have enjoyed ourselves.
